The goal of the Building Maintenance Division is to provide plumbing, electrical, painting, HVAC, energy management, telecommunications, and general grounds and custodial care to ensure efficient operation and maintenance of City properties.
The Division is responsible for administering preventative maintenance programs for city equipment. In addition, the Building Maintenance Division provides diagnostic testing and follow-up; troubleshoots, maintains and upgrades the City telecommunications system; monitors and repairs HVAC, indoor air quality and air conditioning problems; assists the Information Systems & Technology Division with cabling and technical troubleshooting; maintains, repairs, upgrades and replaces electrical components; maintains light fixtures, outlets, extension poles, switches and routine wiring; and monitors mechanical apparatus such as motors, belts and pulleys, etc., to assure proper operation. The Division oversees the City energy committee and designs, implements, and oversees special projects.
The Building Maintenance Division also performs general carpentry to ensure the sound physical aspects of facilities, and assures that City facilities are clean, safe, and attractive.
The Building Maintenance Division is located at City Hall, 710 E. Mullan Avenue, Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.
